Dr. James Lee, M.D.
James Lee, M.D., specializes in customized cataract surgery, LASIK, keratoconus, and corneal and external diseases of the eyes. He also performs the most advanced types of corneal transplants including DSEK, DMEK, and laser assisted procedures. He also practices comprehensive ophthalmology.
Dr. Lee earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Johns Hopkins University and a Medical Doctorate at University of Illinois. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Loyola University in Chicago followed by an ophthalmology residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Lee completed a fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Lee has published on topics including LASIK and infections of the eyes. While in college he was published in a major scientific journal as a primary author for his work in molecular biology. He is currently involved in studies for treating keratoconus as well as perfecting new techniques for performing corneal transplants. He held an associate professor position while at University of Arizona.
Dr. Lee has taught surgeons in Mexico on small incision cataract surgery and is working on plans to help provide eye care to third world countries. Dr. Lee also desires for a second career as a food critic and keeps a diary of culinary experiences when traveling.
Dr. Lee is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Lee is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Colorado Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. John M. Roberts Jr., MD
John M. Roberts Jr., M.D., practices comprehensive ophthalmology. He specializes in customized cataract surgery, glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, and laser assisted procedures.
Dr. Roberts graduated from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine where he earned his degree of medicine in 2008. He performed his internship at Resurrection Medical Center finishing in 2009, he was recognized by the hospital staff and patients with Resident of the Quarter award for providing outstanding patient care. Following this he completed his training in ophthalmology from Stroger Hospital of Cook County in 2012.
Dr. Roberts has been recognized for his commitment to improving the field of ophthalmology through medical research with the Resident Project of the Year award. He has an extensive background in medical research having earned a Masters Degree in Biomedical Sciences and presented research at numerous national meetings.
Dr. Roberts is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Roberts is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Association for Research in Vision and Surgery, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Joseph Austin, OD
Joseph Austin, O.D., specializes in pre-operative and post-operative LASIK examinations, comprehensive eye exams, specialty contact lens fittings and management of anterior segment pathologies of the eyes.
Dr. Austin earned a degree in biology from Lawrence University and a Doctorate of Optometry at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He completed internships in many ophthalmic specialty areas to include refractive, vitreoretinal, pediatric, vision therapy and primary eye care.
Dr. Austin has provided vision screenings at Provident Hospital of Cook County as well as vision screenings for grades Pre-K through 9th grade for Chicago Public Schools.
Dr. Austin was on the Clinical Dean’s List for Advanced Care (LASIK), VAMC Externship and the Contact Lens Service/ Primary Care while attending the Illinois College of Optometry.
Dr. Austin holds a Colorado Optometric License and is a certified Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent.
Dr. Austin is currently a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA). He has previously been a member of the American Optometric Student Association (AOSA) and the Private Practice Club at the Illinois College of Optometry.
