FAQs

What is dry eye?
Dry eye is a condition in which the surface of the eye doesn’t stay lubricated. This may be from either a lack of production or increased evaporation of tears.

What are the symptoms?
Dry eye can cause pain, discomfort, itching, redness, blurred vision, light sensitivity, tearing, foreign body sensation and vision fluctuation.

What causes dry eye?
Mainly caused by the body not making enough tears to keep the eye lubricated. Gets worse with age, contact lenses, central heating, wind, allergies, medications and prolonged reading or computer work.

What are the treatment options?
Artificial tears, lubricant ointment, punctual occlusion. Also certain nutritional supplements and oral and topical medications.

Can I still wear contact lenses if I have dry eyes?
The dry eye should be treated aggressively if wearing contact lenses.

Treatment Options

From excessive tearing to dry irritated red eyes, we have innovative ways to treat your dry eyes.

Artificial Tear Therapy
With so many options available, choosing the right eye drop can be difficult. Our doctors will work with you to help determine which is the best option for you and your lifestyle.

Prescription Eye Drop Therapy
If over-the-counter drops do not alleviate your dry eye symptoms, you may be a candidate for prescription eye drops. This alternative method will treat the inflammation your dry eyes are causing.

Autologous Serum Eye Drops (ASEDs)
In some cases, traditional treatment methods fail to alleviate dry eye symptoms. Made from your own blood, ASEDs is an effective way to treat severe dry eyes. Because our serum and natural tears have biochemical similarities, ASEDs is a great alternative for patients suffering from chronic dry eyes.
